Jay Cutler’s Ex-Coach Defends Him

jay-cutlerJay Cutler’s coach at Vanderbilt, Bobby Johnson, defended his former quarterback.

This is what Johnson had to say:

“I saw him (painted) as a whiner, spoiled, things like that,” Johnson said. “That’s the furthest thing from Jay Cutler you could imagine. … During his career here at Vanderbilt, he never whined, never whimpered. He was a trooper for us.

“He did everything we could ask him to do. To see him labeled like he was, was really disappointing to me. I did get the chance to talk to him and he told me exactly what happened. I’m still a huge Jay Cutler fan.”

I don’t think he will be a problem in Bears camp

  2. Jake Perper Says:

Danny, he will definitely not be a distraction with the Bears. But if he is, which I doubt, we made a horrible deal

Don’t worry guys Jay will be fine. Things were said about him, but let’s remember that the broncos had a hand in this too. You have a proud franchise like my team (Cowboys) and we know how to handle big time issues because this isn’t our first time at the rodeo. Denver should’ve done a better job in the situation-regardless of what Jay said or supposedly did, they were the organization and they should’ve fixed it. Our franchises know how to handle people and their problems. The funny part is that there was no issue about Jay’s so called personality problem until this surfaced so don’t read too much into it.

Thanks so much for your comment Nicole. Funny thing is thats my sisters name. Anyway, I’m not worried at all about Jay’s personality, the Broncos trading him to us was a blessing and I hope he plays up to the level that he can because the whole media will be all over him, thats why we got 5 prime time games. What do you think the Cowboys wil draft in the first round?

  5. Nicole Says:

Thanks for your comment. As far as the cowboys are concerned, we believe that it will be a defensive player (safety/cornerback). Even though Jerry Jones has said that he won’t take a receiver, don’t count that option out. We also don’t have a first round pick and we’re glad (we just shelled out $1.5 billion for the new stadium and yes it’s true- we really did build it for Mike Shanahan’s arrival). Wade hasn’t asked for an extension-why bother! Our number one went to Detroit for receiver Roy Williams-he’ll be the starter this year because T.O. is gone-NO he wasn’t the problem child people in the media made him out to be. We look at his release, along with Pacman and Tank Johnson as “cleaning out the house for Shanahan.” I read this story about Jay and I was wondering if it’s true or not-Is it true that he’s engaged? Someone on another web wrote it. Just Wondering and I look forward to the reply!

  6. Jake Perper Says:

Thanks again for the comment Nicole. I haven’t heard anything about Jay Cutler being engaged. and I know that all the Cowboys fans despise Wade Phillips and I can understand why. I don’t really like our coach Lovie Smith much either. The Cowboys are very thin at WR and corner. I think they would try to get a receiver since the draft is so full of those this year. What pick do the Boys’ have in the 2nd round?
